Why We Do What We Do and Don't Do What We Could Do
by Thomas Leonard (1955 - 2003)

1. Because we have nothing more compelling to do
Find something far better to do and your behaviour changes instantly.

2. Because of the rewards or consequences that motivate us
Change both enough, until you change

3. Because of the particular Personal Operating System (POS) we use
What is your POS? Does it need an upgrade?

 4. Because of our physical and intangible environments
The physical universe never lies

5. Because of the people with whom we spend our time.
They say you become most like the 5 people you spend the most time with

6. Because of what we know or don't know
What don't you know that you would be wise to know?

7. Because our value are seeking to be fully expressed
Values are the activities and interests that we find most exciting

8. Because of our degree of self awareness
We do what we can sense.

9. Because of what we believe to be true
Truth is evolving very, very quickly. Keep Up.

10. Because of the roles we have chosen or we've been given
Roles either expand or contract you.

11. Because we are attempting to compensate for something
We're all trying to compensate for something. It's natural, but know yours.

12. Because of our personality
Personality traits tend to be hardwired. Make the most of it.

13. Because of what inspires us.
Sources of inspiration can be discovered and chosen.

14. Because of our upbringing and culture
We are born into a culture that often defines what we know to do.

15. Because of our body of experiences
What we have experienced either opens us up or closes us down. Or both.

16. Because of our quest for energy in its most powerful forms
How clean, sustainable and nourishing are your sources of energy?

17. Because of the ideas that determine our thinking
New Ideas lead to change.

18. Because of advertising
We are affected, like it or not.

19. Because of the level of integrity at which we operate
The higher the integrity, the more easily life occurs.

20. Because of the strength of your personal foundation
With a strong foundation, we have more energy with which to create.

21. Because of the degree of encouragement and support structures
We need these to be our best. They are not optional.

22. Because of how big we are able to think
Whats possible can be the floor, not the ceiling.

23. Because of the quality and quantity of education and money
Knowledge and cash expand what you can do.

24. Because of our level of openness and responsiveness
Arrogance and resistance limit behaviour.

25. Because of our collection of skills
The more you can do, the more you can do.

26. Because we cannot afford to make changes
Thus we faill into a rut or cycle through life.
