A Team Maintenance Checklist

Even when teams achieve a high level of performance it's important to invest in team maintenance.
Over time changes in market conditions, technology or even team membership can quietly and slowly erode a teams effectiveness. Success too can breed complacency while industry changes, customers expectations and competitor innovations will redefine and raise standards.
Organisations invest a huge amount in improving systems, products and services. A team is a system too, it needs to be maintained to ensure maximum efficiency.
Team Maintenance Checklist
Use the following checklist to assess the need for team maintenance. If you score 6 or more then it's time to rebuild your team
1. Productivity and morale has declined
2. Complaints, conflict and disagreements are increasing
4. Increasing complaints about team leadership
5. Lack of direction, purpose and commitment to goals
6. Apathy or lack of interest and involvement by members
7. Ineffective and inefficient team meetings are common
8. Insufficient innovation, risk taking, imagination, or initiative.
9. Working relationships with other teams are unsatisfactory.
10. Lack of coordination and communication between team members and other functions
11. Lack of trust between members and leaders. People are afraid to speak up. Information is not being shared.
11. Professional and personal standards have declined with one or more individuals underachieving.
12. Team has fragmented into cliques with a lack of co-operation between sub groups
