Strategies, Tactics and Tools for Empowering Talent, Teams and Leaders

Our fundamental human need to belong is a force so strong that it exerts a powerful influence over our behaviour. We will often act in ways that contradict our personal values in order to secure membership, reclaim membership or prevent exclusion from a group. This need to belong is a legacy of our evolutionary past. Survival was far greater for those who lived and worked together in groups. However, our ability to interact with others successfully for the common good of the group remains one of our greatest challenges.

We are currently doing some housekeeping on the blog so not all articles and posts are available. We hope to have things back to normal as soon as possible meanwhile we're sorry for any inconvenience.

  • Energy sapping, time wasting, petty conflicts and game playing politics are a plague of the workplace and very often a fact of everyday organisational life. When we understand and learn to recognise some of the dynamics that's driving this behaviour, we can protect ourselves and deal with it more effectively.

Unfortunately there may be times when your best rescuing efforts fall short. The game continues and you find yourself caught in the never-ending saga of a really bad soap opera.

While reseach hasn’t clearly determined how conflict which originates in one part of the organisation surfaces in another, when we look at the process of triangulation we can see more easily how conflict can spread like a virus.
